Revised 1-1-20 My Theologies My Theologies currently consist of several Theology Chapters of what I believe and why I believe it. If you do not have the time or desire to read about all of my Christian beliefs, There is also a Page titled Christians United . I encourage you to check it out. It is about Christians starting a new movement that is more focused on the Greatest Commands of God and the Great Command of Jesus, commonly known as The Great Commission, evangelizing the lost. It is not as long as my Theologies and I believe it is a fairly easy read.
My family and I first started attending WHITE RIVER CHRISTIAN Church August 25th 2002. Prior to that, I had always had at least a casual relationship with God. From the time I was Grade School age, I had prayed on at least a daily basis. But I had never actually read a full page of the Bible. Our current Church always preaches and teaches directly from the Bible. Which I have grown a great fondness for. I believe the entire Bible is God breathed and is very useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting, and training in righteousness.
While I am very confident that the Ministers and Staff of our Church have always presented what they believe to be Sound Doctrine, there have on rare occaision, been times when I felt a little uncomfortable about what I was hearing. My Senior Pastor has said a few times that many just believe and follow what they are told because they do not have or take the time to do there own research and studies. I do not consider myself a blind follower of what I am told. I try to be a Berean. Acts 17:11Now the Berean Jews were of more noble character than those in Thessalonica, for they received the message with great eagerness and examined the Scriptures every day to see if what Paul said was true. Therefore, I would sometimes go home and open the Bible to try to accurately understand what I was hearing. After a few years I started to feel that I could not just dutifully nod my head as though I agreed with everything I was hearing across the board, that would be phony and dishonest. After being awaken in the middle of the night several times by what I now believe was the Holy Spirit stirring thoughts and beliefs in my heart and mind, I decided to get my thoughts and beliefs out of my mind and organized on paper. So in the early fall of 2007 we (God and I) wrote what later became titled My Systematic Theology, Chapter One, the Basics. It is largely just that, the BASICS of what I believe and why I believe it. It is fairly short in comparison to the other Chapters and a fairly easy read. After meeting and discussing Chapter One with my Senior Pastor, he told me I could tell others that he gave it his full endorsement.
I would say I feel very good about 99+% of what my Church teaches. However, a few years ago my Church started doing an occasional sermon about Tithing. After several nights of interrupted sleep, a great deal of research and Bible study, I felt called by the Holy Spirit to write a Chapter titled My Systematic Theology, Chapter Two, Tithing and Old Testament Laws. It is a little different from what my Church and many others commonly teach about Tithing. While it does not match what my Church recently taught about the subject, I believe it is Biblically supported and accurate. After more than 1 meeting with my Senior Pastor about Chapter 2, he told me in Dec. 2008, that the work needed to be shared with others. My intention was to thoroughly review a very controversial subject, so the Chapter is fairly long.
About the time I was completing Chapter 2 our Senior Pastor gave an excellent explanation of several signs and recent news events that indicate that the end of time may be very near and that Jesus may very well return within our lifetime. It reminded me of how precious time is.Do me a favor. Take a deep breath. Now let it out real slow. Felt pretty good didn't it. That deep breath we just took was just by the Grace of God. It could have very well been our last. We all know loved ones and acquaintances who are lost. Regardless of when Jesus returns, we never know when our last breath will come, and then it will be too late to save others. That is why I believe it is so important for us to evangelize as many people as possible as soon as possible. I felt a little guilty that I had spent so much time writing Chapters that might not have much to do with leading others to salvation. So I decided that perhaps I should focus my concerns on writings, discussions and teachings that inspire the lost to be saved, and inspire those good Christians that are already saved to work harder and smarter to save others.
After completing Chapter Two I spent over a year praying and meditating about what I should write about next, I eventually felt called by the Holy Spirit to write about... The Holy Spirit. How our prayer may improve our relationship with the Holy Spirit and how our pride may interfere with it. So we (God and I) wrote My Systematic Theology, Chapter Three, In the Name Of The Father And The Son And The Holy Spirit. My Senior Pastor called Chapter 3 my strongest Chapter. It is a little longer than Chapter 1, a little shorter than Chapter 2 and I believe it may be a little easier for the newer Christian to read and follow. I hope it leads some to have a deeper relationship with The Father, The Son and The Holy Spirit. I pray that by tasting that special relationship, some will become more committed to pursuing their salvation and the salvation of others.
Have you ever wondered how and why Christians believe as we do. Have you ever been challenged by a non-believer and wish you had some proof to support your beliefs. Then My Systematic Theology Chapter 4, Proof In Prophecy may be for you. It examines how the prophecies of the Bible give proof that Jesus is who he says and that our beliefs justified.
Have you ever wondered, IF there is a GOD: · WHY would GOD allow satan to exist and allow people to go to hell? · WHY would GOD not show himself and give us some proof of His existence? · WHY would GOD allow tragedy such as Cancers, Tsunamis, Hurricanes and suffering? · WHY is the GOD of Christians different than the god of other religions? · WHY do Christians believe that GOD sent HIS Son JESUS CHRIST? · WHY should we believe in JESUS? If you have ever asked yourself these questions, then my WHY Theology might be a good read for you. My Senior Pastor said, “I'm very pleased with the spiritual maturity I continue to see grow in you. Nice job connecting the theological dots many people miss in Scripture”.
Have you ever wondered how our SPIRITUAL JOURNEY and our HEALTH JOURNEY might relate to each other. Then my CHANGING OUR GLUTTONY MINDSET theology might be a good read for you.
