THIN IS SELDOM EASY
Revise 1-1-20
Many assume that all thin people are naturally thin or that it is easy for all thin people to maintain a thin healthy appearance. It has been my experience and I believe it is for many, that being thin is frequently very difficult. I spent about 15 years of my young adult life attempting to lose weight only to gain more weight than I was losing. By 1999 I was up to about 215lbs. The back of my neck looked like a pack of hot dogs. Since then, by the grace of God, I have been winning the battle of the bulge. For the last several years I have been able to keep my weight in the low 160lb range and a comfortable 32 inch waist. Maintaining is not easy. Over the holidays I tend to creep into the upper 160lb range. To get it back down, I do stair climber, extra push ups and sit ups and get back to my healthier eating habits. I have learned by looking up nutritional info about restaurants and reading labels that marinara sauces tend to be lower in Sat Fat than Alfredo sauces. I have also learned that restaurant ground beef tends to be very high in Sat Fat and frequently includes Trans Fat (one of the worst fats). So I try to order marinara sauces with chicken or seafood. I try to maintain my own accountability by weighing myself twice a day and writing it down on a calendar that I keep hanging near the scale in our bathroom. One of the benefits of doing so, is that even though I do not journal what I eat, I have usually been able to see a pattern and learn what foods stick to me and which ones are easier for me to shed.
Many experts claim that childhood obesity and Diabetes or at epidemic levels dramatically reducing the life expectancy of todays' youth so much that todays' youth will be the first generation to not out live their parents. We are the first generation likely to bury our own children.
If you are naturally thin and your spouse is struggling to convert to a healthier lifestyle, I encourage you to get on board and be supportive. Their lives and the lives of your children may depend on it.
Becoming thin and staying thin are definitely not easy, BUT WORTH IT.
To help others achieve the success that I have, I created this Web Site to share my inspirations and methods. The Web Site includes many photos of me from when I was huge (huge may seem harsh or less than PC but it is my own wording) to what I am now. Also photos of My Most Wanted Foods. It also includes my food categories including FMDs (Foods of Mass Destruction) and recipes for some of my favorite snacks Guaccamole and Buffalo Chicken Dip.
Thanks and may God Bless you for visiting my Web Site.
